Beliefs: Serving
"For the Son or Man came hot to be served but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45).
"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works? Can faith save you? If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill, and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So faith by itself, if it has not owrks, is dead" (James 2:14-17).
A natural outgrowth of the life of grace is ministry - serving others in the name of Jesus. Faith becomes alive and vigrant as it is embodied in relationships of serving and caring for others.
We believe that God has placed us in a strategic spot in our community and that we are called to serve people who live here. We envision our church as a community center, a hospitable gathering place, a sort of "front porch" for Andover and work as advocates on behalf of the community. We will encourage our members to help develop Grace's outreach and serving ministry by applying their spiritual gifts as servants to the needs around us. Recognizing that we are also part of a larger community than just Andover, we will share our gifts by reaching out to wider circles globally.
